Father Nehme Saliba
Biography Narrative
Father Nehme Saliba is a clergyman of the Orthodox Church in Lebanon. He is also a trainer and activist in Islamic-Christian relations and dialogue, a field in which he held several positions in different non-governmental organizations. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies on “civil marriage and its notion in religions”. His motto in life is: “A path to a better life”
Interreligious Activities and Initiatives
Arab Youth Forum for Interreligious & Intercultural Dialogue
local communities in the Arab Region lack effective initiatives to support youth’s communication and dialogue skills within and out of formal and informal education systems, which results in intolerance and potential violence and exclusionary reactions.
Therefore, the initiators from Egypt, Jordan, Palestine and Lebanon have agreed to work together to collect and train Christian and Muslim youth from both genders on the topic of “The Other in Dialogue and Cooperation” by addressing the Christian-Muslim dialogue and training techniques and mechanisms of dialogue and communication, Highlight issues of diversity and pluralism of the community.
Through this initiative, the group aim to consolidate knowledge of the other among all participants, trainees and trainers, in order to create an extensive network of participants and open channels to activate dialogue skills among youth leaders
