Catholic Near East Welfare Association
Aim
Support the pastoral missions and humanitarian works of the Catholic Eastern churches; alleviate poverty without regard to nationality or religion; encourage interfaith dialogue, especially between Catholic and Orthodox churches; raise awareness about peoples and churches of the East.
History
Founded by Pope Pius XI in 1926, CNEWA works for, through and with the Eastern Catholic churches to identify needs and implement solutions.

- Dialogue Encouragement and Hope Inspiration
CNEWA advances Christian unity and dialogue among all peoples, Christian and non-Christian, raises consciousness about the churches and peoples of the East, advocates respect for human dignity and human rights, understanding among peoples, justice and peace. For instance, Islamic scholars from Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia met with CNEWA's Chorbishop to discuss CNEWA's work in the Middle East and the agency's role in promoting Christian-Muslim dialogue. Committed to promoting dialogue among peoples of faith throughout the Near East and North Africa, the programme introduced the distinguished delegation to various aspects of religious life in the United States, the historic origins of religious freedom through immigration, religious education and the impact of religion on political life
- Program Holy See
CNEWA closely collaborates with the Holy Father's representatives and supports many good works of various departments of the Roman Curia. CNEWA has always had a special relationship with the Congregation for the Eastern Churches, providing annual aid to support its efforts with the Eastern churches. CNEWA also works with the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, assisting in their efforts of dialogue and collaboration.
