Central Committee of German Catholics
Aim
Monitor the development in the social, political, and ecclesiastical life and to represent the concerns of Catholics in public; give suggestions for the apostolic work of the Church and of Catholics in society; contribute to the ecclesiastical decisions on the diocesan level and to advise the German Bishops' Conference on issues of social, political and ecclesiastical life; prepare and undertake joint initiatives and events of German Catholics; observe the concerns and responsibilities of German Catholics abroad and at international level; contribute to the implementation and compliance with relevant measures.
History
Foundation in 1848 as 'Katholikentage', Name changed to Zentralkomitee der deutschen Katholiken' in 1952.

- Discussion Group Christians and Jews
The discussion group is for decades the only body worldwide in which Jews and Catholics are in continuous exchange and take a common position on basic and current theological issues
- Discussion Group Christian and Muslims
The discussion group's mission lies in the dialogue between Christians and Muslims, and in the elaboration of common positions on specific socio-political fields and practical questions of everyday coexistence of Christians and Muslims. The group focuses especially on common interests and responsibilities of Christians and Muslims in the society.
