Aim

The aim is to raise awareness and promote reflection on the prophetic responsibility of Christians.

History

The Movement was inspired by the pastoral ministry of Monsignor Leonidas Proa�o, who chose to raise awareness of poor and indigenous people, frequently emphasizing: "we all have the same rights and obligations", raising the self-esteem of the marginalized social class, especially the poor and indigenous, in search of the recovery of dignity. When Monsignor Proa�o was alive, he founded the organization with the name Movement for Peace. When he passed away, a group of lay Catholics decided to continue with his legacy and that is why they changed the name of the organization to the Leonidas Proa�o Movement.
