Muslim-Christian Research Group
Aim
Study, from the perspective of a critical faith, the doctrinal and practical problems of Christianity and Islam, to encourage the search for truth, mutual understanding, and joint activities at the service of men of our time.
History
The GRIC, Muslim-Christian Research Group, was founded in 1994 on the initiative of a small group of Christian and Muslim scholars.
IRD Activities
- Publication of Research Documents
Publications written jointly by groups of Muslim and Christian scholars in the different GRIC local chapters, especially in the form of journal articles. Scholars from both traditions meet regularly for discussion in four different countries to further their understanding on important questions such as: their approaches to sacred texts, Muslim-Christian dialogue, pluralism and secularism, faith and justice, sin and ethical responsibility or the (future) definition of their identities, with publications issuing from their work. The GRIC wants its website to become a place where Christians and Muslims can consult the basic documents in order to root dialogue between them.
