World Scout Bureau – Africa Scout Region
Aim
Assist the World Organization in fostering the Scout Movement in the Africa Region in accordance with the purpose, principles and method of the Scout Movement as defined by the Constitution of the World Organization.
History
The Africa Scout Regional Office is a branch of the World Scout Bureau, the permanent secretariat of the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Based on the philosophy of “One World, One Scout Movement”, the office acts as the secretariat of the World Organization of the Scout Movement on matters pertaining to the Africa region. Established in Lagos, Nigeria in 1965, the office moved to Nairobi, Kenya in 1982 and has since been headquartered at Rowallan Scout Camp.

- The World Scout Inter-religious Symposium
The World Scout Inter-religious Symposium (WSIS) is a gathering of representatives of National Scout Organizations and religious networks. It helps reinforce the value of Scouting as an institution promoting interreligious dialogue, tolerance, solidarity and peace. The WSIS furthers co-operation and understanding of interreligious issues throughout the Scout Movement. The 3rd WSIS was held in the Africa Region. There were over 80 participants from 30 countries belonging to 12 different faiths and beliefs: namely Baha'i, Buddhist, Anglican, Catholic, Lutheran, Orthodox, Protestant, Hindu, Islam, Jewish, Native African, Sikh and Won-Buddhist.
