Women’s Voices for Sustainable Future
Under the theme of International Women’s Day, DKH will host a webinar Women’s Voices for a Sustainable Future on March 24th at 3:00 PM CET to commemorate efforts around the world, in leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all. This webinar is planned as a pilot webinar to launch a proposed webinar series titled ‘Women’s Voices’ comprising 5 webinars throughout the year in support of SDG 5.
The theme for International Women’s Day this year is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. This is an opportunity to bring in KAICIID fellows to speak alongside leaders in women’s empowerment about the importance of women as effective and powerful leaders and change-makers for climate adaptation and mitigation. This is aligned with the priority theme for the upcoming 66th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66): “Achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls in the context of climate change, environmental and disaster risk reduction policies and programmes”.
