Dr. Alexander Wrona
Biography Narrative

Alexander Wrona holds a B.A. (2014) in languages and cultures of South Asia and Tibet and an M.A. (2017) in religious studies, both from the University of Vienna. His research focuses on the relations between Islam and Theravāda Buddhism, especially in Arab Gulf states. Having written his graduate thesis on Sri Lankan Buddhists in the Sultanate of Oman, he then went on to start a Ph.D. at King’s College London to continue this research and broaden its scale.
As part of his KAICIID fellowship, Alex works on turning the insights gained from his research into an interreligious dialogue project to improve the relations between Buddhism and Islam. Alex was born in Berlin, Germany and currently divides his time between Vienna, Austria and Muscat, Oman.
