Biography Narrative

Khonsavanh Vongvannaxay is a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the National University of Laos and is currently the Deputy Head of the International Relations unit at the Department of International Relations. An effective problem-solver and able to prioritize and manage heavy works and research, she obtained her master’s degree in Asia-Pacific Studies from Thammasat University in Thailand. She has experience as a lecturer, researcher, team coach, coordinator, and member of the Committee on International Law, Human Rights Law, and Law on ASEAN topics. She is interested in getting involved in educating future religious leaders and instilling in them the value of respecting other religions and learning about interreligious dialogue. She believes that we are one single family all around the world, irrespective of religious affiliation.

Interreligious Activities and Initiatives

Training on Inter-religious Dialogue & Law in Lao PDR

Interreligious Dialogue education has not been widely promoted or taught at universities in Lao and Students have very limited knowledge about it. This training among the academic lecturers and students at law faculty will improve students’ knowledge on interreligious Dialogue education, develop skills for teaching and learning IRD in the university and evaluation of participant on the understanding of IRD. It will be held on 25-26 July 2019 at FLP meeting room, NUOL, and co-cooperation with the Faculty of Law and Political Science NUOL. The participant will be 40 people. The context is a discussion on the Inter-religious Dialogue related to Law in Lao PDR, by focusing on the basis of the interreligious freedom in Laos, State management of religious in Laos, Policies, and law on IRD in Laos and relation between religious and law. The outcome for the future are students will go to communities to promote a religious in the local authority and the lecturers will produce module on IRD for the course.
