Interreligious Activities and Initiatives

Modules on Interreligious Dialogue for peace for youth Muslims and Confucious in Java Indonesia

This module proposes to support the coexistence between Muslims and Confucians through youth inter-religious training for peace in Java Indonesia. It helps young future leader from two religious backgrounds to meet and learn from each other and to encourage them to conduct similar trainings on their own.

 

This project is one of three collaborative interreligious dialogue between Muslims and Confucians: Research on Reinventing Common Ground between Islam and Confucianism and Its Challenges in Java Indonesia; Modules on Interreligious Dialogue for Peace for Youth Muslims and Confucians in Java Indonesia; and Training on Interreligious Dialogue for Peace for Youth Muslims and Confucians in West Java and East Java, Indonesia.

 

The module is a result of a field research, interviews, and several focus group discussions (FGDs) inviting experts and practitioners to discuss about the draft; and is used as the training module by the interreligious dialogue training team.

 

This project cannot be implemented without the support from KAICIID and the collaboration of four institutions, they are: State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya, Indonesia; Study Centre Peace Promotion Institute Pesantren Mathaliul Falah, Pati, Central Java; Center for Religious and Cross-cultural Studies, University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia; and GEMAKU (Youth Generation of Confucianism), Jakarta, Indonesia.
