A 3-Day Workshop on Inter-religious Dialogue for Peace Coexistence in the Department of Religious Studies, Gombe State University.
Summarily, the 3-day workshop on Inter-religious Dialogue for peaceful coexistence in the Department of Religious Studies, Gombe State University was a huge success. The first two days were hinged on the workshop proper. Various speakers spoke on various subjects revolving around inter-religious dialogue. The third day was used for visit to holy sites (Central Mosque Gombe and Cathedral Church of St. Peters Bolari Gombe). The first day began with the opening ceremony in which the convener explained what KAICIID is and its roles to include inter-religious dialogue between different faiths. The Dean faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the representative of Head of Department, Religious Studies all delivered their speeches. Series of talks were also delivered. The second day had much similarity to the first. It was also a fusillade of lectures, group discussions and interactions. The third day was marked by the participants visiting the Central Mosque, Gombe where the chief Imam led the tour. This task was equally handled by the Bishop of Gombe Anglican Diocese at the Cathedral Church of St. Peters Bolari Gombe. In all, there were 50 participants constituting of lecturers and students. They expressed happiness and requested for the continuity of the program in the University community.
