Nineveh Declaration for Peace, Dialogue and Coexistence in Nineveh – Iraq
Nineveh Forum: Interreligious Dialogue for Peace and Living Together (Mosul, Iraq, April 2025)
Supported by KAICIID and implemented by Fellows from the Arab Region, this initiative was co-organized with the University of Mosul (UNESCO Chair) and the Religion and Security Council. The Forum brought together religious, academic, and civic leaders for two days of dialogue on peacebuilding, citizenship, and coexistence. It culminated in the Declaration for Peace, Dialogue, and Coexistence in Nineveh, endorsed by the Governor of Nineveh—marking a significant step toward strengthening social cohesion and mutual understanding in the region. The Declaration affirms commitments to human rights, inclusive citizenship, reconstruction, education, cultural preservation, youth and women’s empowerment, justice, environmental sustainability, and interreligious dialogue as foundations for a peaceful and united Nineveh.
