Aim
Inspire and empower God's family in AMECEA to a credible and prophetic witness to Christ by promoting unity, justice, peace, and solidarity through deeper evangelisation, constant conversion and prayer, inculturation, ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue; relevant formation of all agents of evangelisation; revitalisation, and continued emphasis on the role of the small Christian communities in evangelisation; preferential option for the poor, oppressed, and marginalised, particularly refugees, persons affected and infected with HIV/AIDS, and internally displaced people; empowering the laity and the religious men and women to play their active roles in the Church and society; self-reliance in personnel and finances at all levels; networking, effective communication and advocacy; poverty eradication, sustainable development, and relevant response to all issues affecting God's family.
History
26 July 1961, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania, then Tanganyika), as Inter-Territorial Episcopal Board of Eastern Africa (ITEBEA), at 1st Inter-Territorial Episcopal Meeting. Full time Secretariat from 1964.

- Ggaba Publications
AMECEA Ggaba Publications is a department of AMECEA Pastoral Institute (API/Ggaba) in Eldoret, Kenya. The publications provide material for Church renewal and help reflect and implement pastoral policies and priorities of AMECEA. Among these priorities, is the development of small Christian communities, the need to inculturate Christianity in Africa, the search for Christian unity and dialogue with Islam and with African traditional religions, more meaningful forms of religious education, development, liberation, social justice, and modern means of communicating the Word of God.
