Monastic Interreligious Dialogue DIM Iberian Commission
Aim
The aim of the organisation is to value and identify with all that has a genuine spiritual value in each religion and cultural tradition. It is also important to promote dialogue about religious experience, rooted in Christian tradition and to spread awareness on the importance of interreligious dialogue in monastic communities.
History
The Iberian Commission of the DIM was born in 1991, as a result of the coexistence between Zen Buddhist monks and Catholics from the Montserrat monastery, in the framework of East-West spiritual exchanges, with the participation of Benedictine and Cistercian monks from Spain and Portugal.
