Superior Institute of Religious Studies
Aim
The goal of the Superior Institute of Religious Studies is to become a platform of theological meeting place from which the three main Judeo-Christian confessional branches in Argentina can promote social coexistence and mutual understanding
History
The Superior Institute of Religious Studies was founded in 1967 by Rabbi Marshall T. Meyer, Priest Jorge Meja and Rev. Jos Mguez Bonino. They came together with the aim of reflecting theologically on common interconfesional topics from a Judeo-Christian perspective. Although the initiative went through a break in its activities from 1989 - 2004, it resumed its activities in 2004 under a new leadership which focuses on intellectual tasks, common liturgies, well-argued publications on local social matters, and the awarding of different prizes.
