History
The Apfelbaum Foundation has been founded in 1989 by an entrepreneurial family.
IRD Activities
- Funding Priority "Growing Together Within/of the Religions"
The topic areas of this funding priority are the improvement of the dialogue between the world religions, especially Christians, Jews and Muslims, the promotion of all approaches to a pluralistic theology of religions and to achieve greater complementarity of religions, and the support of structural changes within the Catholic Church (e.g. voluntary celibacy, female priests, greater involvement of the laity). Funded projects include the coordination of the Christian-Muslim dialogue in Germany, contributions for the construction of a community centre in the Galilee (Israel), and the documentation of interdisciplinary symposia and interreligious meetings.
