Union of Protestant Churches of Alsace and Lorraine
Aim
Create a formal framework for the rapprochement between the Lutheran and Reformed Churches of Alsace and Lorraine.
History
The Union of Protestant Churches of Alsace and Lorraine (UEPAL) was created in 2006 by bringing together the Protestant Church of Augsburg Confession of Alsace and Lorraine and the Protestant Reformed Church of Alsace and Lorraine.
IRD Activities
- Protestant Interreligious Committee
The UEPAL has set up the Protestant Interreligious Committee with two working groups to date: the Protestant Commission for Dialogue with Judaism, created in 2005, and the Protestant Commission for Dialogue with Muslims, created in 2012. Other dialogue commissions may be created. Its objective is to contribute to build the voice of UEPAL in interreligious dialogue, to give a theological sense to interreligious dialogue, and to know and make known interreligious plurality.
