Katharina von Schnurbein
Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism, European Commission
In December 2015, Katharina von Schnurbein, a German national, was appointed the first European Commission Coordinator on combating Antisemitism. Before, she was an advisor to Commission President José Manuel Barroso on the Commission's dialogue with Churches, religions, philosophical and non-confessional organizations. Before that, she was the Commission's spokesperson for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal opportunities (2004-2010) and press officer at the Delegation of the European Commission to the Czech Republic (2002-2004).
