• Study Tour - Turkey

  Australia is a young nation that is in the process of learning about the cultures of the world. Hence groups from university departments, NGOs and government departments are organising study tours to the USA and Europe on a regular basis to gain international experience, enhance understanding of other cultures and faiths and to develop the professional skills of the participants. Turkey is the only Islamic nation that is governed by a democratic system. 99% of its population is Muslim and it has one of the richest cultures in the world. Turkey acts as a bridge between Europe and Asia and it has been the leader of the Muslim world for the past thousand years. These and other significant features of Turkey, such as playing a most important role in the region with its geopolitical importance, makes this study tour quite imperative for academics all over the world. Participants also ge the opportunity to describe Australia’s multicultural society, its achievements in peace and social justice to academics and leaders in Turkey. The tour enables its participants to develop strong friendships amongst themselves which allows the formation of a professional network upon their return to Australia. The tours are planned carefully so that maximum efficiency can be obtained during the visits to historical, touristic and geographically fascinating locations whilst they present the opportunity to meet and socialise with the locals and enjoy the delicious foods and culture. The tours also enhance human relations, teamwork, world perspective and management skills of the participants
