Aim

Strengthen faith by mobilising support of the different faith groups, not only in Cambodia but also in Southeast Asia and in the broader Asia-Pacific region, to work for peace, development and harmony in order to achieve a peaceful coexistence of the people in Asia and beyond; fosters constructive inter-faiths dialogue through broad participation in order to promote trust-building and reconciliation as well as societal development; ameliorate the lives of diverse people around the world; enhance dialogue among different stakeholders, including the different faith groups; promote understanding, confidence building, mutual trust, reconciliation and tolerance among the faith groups and other stakeholders; foster interactive debate and engaging discussion on development issues, such as poverty, that significantly interest a wide spectrum of people in the Asia-Pacific region; encourage cooperation, collaboration and partnership among the key actors in faiths and development groups, including youth and younger generations; support human rights education, development, and faith as the catalysts for positive change and transformation at the community, national, regional, and international levels.

History

The Asia Faiths Development Dialogue (AFDD) was set up in December 2006 with the launching and convening of the 2006 AFDD Forum on “Building Peace and Harmony in Asia Through Inter-Faiths Dialogue and Development.”

IRD Activities

  • Networking

    ADFF promotes networking and partnerships of like-minded institutions and individuals in Cambodia, Southeast Asia, the Asia-Pacific region, and the world at large. It also promotes cooperation, collaboration and partnership among the key actors between faiths and development, including the different faith groups as well as youth and younger generation of people

  • Dialogue

    ADFF enhances dialogue among the different stakeholders, promotes understanding, confidence-building, mutual trust, reconciliation and tolerance among the faith groups and other stakeholders, and fosters interactive debate and engaging discussion on development issues, including poverty, that are of significant interests to people from a wide spectrum in the Asia-Pacific region.
