Aim
Help, in all ways, the Christian communities of the Middle East which, for centuries, have lived in the heart of Islam and contributed to the social, cultural, and religious development of the Arab and Eastern civilisations (Churches of the Middle East, Christians of the Middle East, Arab Christians, Copts, Syriacs, Armenians, Ethiopians...).
History
Originally (1932) conceived as the Belgian branch of 'Œuvre d'Orient' in France, Solidarity with the East became an autonomous association in 1984.
IRD Activities
- Activities in Support of Dialogue and Ecumenical Cooperation
Solidarity with the East's work is both humanitarian and ecclesial, concerned about the evolution of the global context, and aims to support the Christian communities of the Near and Middle East
- Bulletin
It aims to promote Solidarity with the East's partners and thus better help them by echoing many of their completed and ongoing projects. The Bulletin also aims to contribute to a better knowledge of the various faith communities of the Near and Middle East and to the promotion of Islamic-Christian dialogue.
