Help, in all ways, the Christian communities of the Middle East which, for centuries, have lived in the heart of Islam and contributed to the social, cultural, and religious development of the Arab and Eastern civilisations (Churches of the Middle East, Christians of the Middle East, Arab Christians, Copts, Syriacs, Armenians, Ethiopians...).
Foster the spirit of communion within the universal Church and between the particular churches; provide the bishops of the territories with facilities for consultation and united action in such matters of common interest to the Church as consultation and co-operation with other hierarchies; foster priestly and religious vocations; form clergy, religious and laity; promote missionary activity, catechetics, liturgy, lay apostolate, ecumenism, development, justice and reconciliation, social welfare, schools, hospitals, the apostolate of the press, radio, television, and other means of social communication; issue statements of common policy; promote and foster any movement, institution or undertaking that shall be deemed consistent with its aim; negotiate with the government or with any other person or body; provide appropriate means for the achievement of its purpose.
Nurture a flourishing monastic community in the US, where learning and practising Buddha's ancient teachings cultivate peace in the hearts of the residents and visitors and -by extension- in the world.
