Promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue in the Mediterranean as a means for promoting peace; serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University, other institutions in the Mediterranean area, and other institutions in Europe, North America, and other regions of the world to encourage them to include this subject in their field of research; stimulate communication with civil society, using the most suitable tools of communication: the new technologies of information and communication and audio-visual resources, particularly documentary cinema, thus fostering interaction between inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue, development and peace.

Educate young people in a spirit of peace and tolerance, solidarity and intercultural and interfaith dialogue; establish an M.A. Programme in Interfaith Studies organized jointly by Mc Gill Faculty of Religious Studies and partners of the School; transform attitudes to religious studies through the creation of specific educational programmes with the participation of students and institutions in Israel in order, through interfaith understanding, to contribute to the peace process.

Promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of sociology of religion; serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Japan, and the Asia and the Pacific region.

Initiate a historical and anthropological reflection on the foundations and the process of interculturality, with particular emphasis on the place and the evolution of cultures in a globalizing world; promote an integrated system of research activities, training in the field of memory, cultures and interculturality; facilitate collaboration between high-level researchers, internationally recognized professors from universities and higher education institutions in France, Europe, North America, Central America, South America and other parts of the world.

Promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation activities in the field of history, linguistics, cultural, and religious studies; serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the Institute and other institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Promote a culture of peace by encouraging interfaith and intercultural dialogue in Central Asia; introduce new curricula and teaching materials in higher, vocational and secondary educational institutes of the Republic of Uzbekistan; promote research on comparative history of religions and comparative religious anthropology; contribute to the development of an international scientific network of cooperating academic institutions working on the interaction between different religions and cultures; undertake formal and informal research and training projects in this field for students, scholars, religious communities and ethnic groups in a spirit of tolerance and solidarity with the aim of fostering mutual knowledge among cultures, religions and spiritual traditions.

Inform members of the university community and society in general about the state of migrations in progress, particularly in the Mediterranean area, as well as the (social, economic, legal and cultural) problems that migratory processes involve today; train university students in the spirit of tolerance in a multicultural society and prospect what may be a new concept of citizenship keeping up with the times; develop initiatives to reconcile respect for one's own cultural identity with the knowledge of other cultures in an international context characterized by a very unequal development and transmission of information and communication; publicize educational projects under way to resolve conflicts arising from the encounter of cultures, with special attention to the fact that many migrants have been raised in different religious convictions from those of the host country and explicitly express their desire to preserve them; cultivate positive values which facilitate respect for differences, the free expression of cultures and the voluntary integration of cultural minorities that exist in our society, as a result of recent major population movements.

Develop the knowledge and skills of lecturers, researchers, and students in research methodologies and theoretical and conceptual approaches for the study of religion and inter-religious relations; produce jointly with partners, quality research on comparative religion and inter-religious relations in Iraq and the Islamic world from different disciplinary perspectives (religious sciences, humanities, and social sciences); provide a platform where professors, students and other intellectuals from Iraq, the region and beyond can meet and work together across sectarian and religious divides; promote gender equality and empower women by targeting at least 25% female participation in academic and dialogue promotion activities; contribute to the public debate and policy decision-making to improve inter-religious relations, governance and social cohesion in Iraq and the Islamic world at large; foster networking and the sharing of knowledge notably through the development of a dedicated website, publications including newsletters, the organization of conferences and workshops; and, cooperate closely with UNESCO on relevant programmes and activities, and with relevant UNESCO Chairs.

Unite young scientists and specialists of Eurasia not through organisational and formal steps, but inviting them to united project teams to work together on real scientific projects.

Support inter-governmental bodies, such as the Commission on the Status of Women, in their formulation of policies, global standards and norms; help Member States implement these standards, standing ready to provide suitable technical and financial support to those countries that request it, and to forge effective partnerships with civil society; lead and coordinate the UN system’s work on gender equality, as well as promote accountability, including through regular monitoring of system-wide progress.
