The National Commission for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue collaborates with the Episcopal Conference of Chile to advise on knowledge and relationships with other Churches and religious groups in the country. The Commission also works with the Catholic community in coordinating different activities and participating in ecumenical initiatives and interreligious dialogue.
Promote dialogue and understanding with other faiths, ideologies, and cultures, and the interests of freedom, tolerance and peace; intensify inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue with the other monotheistic religions, ideologies and cultures; contribute to the development of a common basis for the tolerant, peaceful co-existence of all religions and nations, both at national and supra-national levels; preserve, develop, perpetuate and disseminate Eugen Biser's theological and philosophical works and related themes, by means of scholarly studies, lectures, seminars and publications; disseminate Christianity's core values and impulses; encourage inter-Christian reconciliation and ecumenism; analyse spiritual and religious developments in all aspects of the human experience; organise lectures, symposia and seminars on themes relating to the Foundation, in co-operation with high-schools, academies and other educational and cultural organisations, as well as in industry; grant the Eugen Biser Award; increase access to the library of philosophical, theological and scholarly religious sources and reference-works assembled by Biser, alongside his archive of scholarly works.
To disseminate the principles of religious liberty throughout the world, defend and safeguard the civil right of all people to worship or not to worship, to adopt a religion or belief of their choice, to manifest their religious convictions in observance, promulgation, and teaching, subject only to the respect for the equivalent rights of others, support the right of religious organizations to operate freely in every country by their establishing and owning charitable or educational institutions; and organize local, regional, and national chapters as well as seminars, and congresses.
Defend the rights and legitimate interests of the Jewish people, promote and satisfy community needs and interests, and also officially represent Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region in the governments of a given region or countries and in international organisations, in cooperation with the organisations and associations of Jewish communities of individual states.
Bring together hundreds of historians and history educators to share experiences, to implement innovative learning about the past, discussing also sensitive and controversial issues, and therefore creating new and inclusive historical narratives.
Cooperate on conflict prevention and transformation, peaceful coexistence and reconciliation and encourage members of their communities to do the same.
