Serve as a think tank in the field of Islamic education, culture and knowledge; formulate a comprehensive Islamic vision and methodology that will help Muslim scholars in their critical analysis of contemporary knowledge; develop an appropriate methodology for understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet; develop an appropriate methodology for dealing with Islamic legacy and contemporary knowledge, in order to draw on the experiences of both past and present, to build a better future for the Ummah and humanity at large; develop an appropriate methodology for understanding and dealing with the present situation of both the Ummah and the world in general, and the field of education in particular, in view of contemporary challenges and opportunities.

Build awareness and motivate youth to be socially engaged; build leadership capacity among the youth to carry out activities effectively; promote networking and solidarity among youth towards coordinated actions in the field of child and human rights, environmental conservation, economic justice and peace; participate in policy advocacy on child and youth rights including non-state and refugee youth.

Introduce Islam and its international values and principles; promote cooperation among people and resistance to all reasons for family disintegration and social decadence; assure the importance of the environment and work to resist all reasons for corruption and pollution.

Strongly encourage inter-religious dialogue and contact, 'Tolerance, understanding and cooperation' is our vision for today's world and the message we seek to convey to believers of all religions; develop and promote the spirit of brotherhood and understanding among Scouts of the Orthodox Christian Faith; promote warm relations and co-operation between Scouting and the official local Orthodox Churches; develop an educational curriculum that should enhance the spiritual dimension in the personalities of young Orthodox in accordance with the purpose, principles, and method of the Scout Movement; introduce Scouting in such states or areas where Orthodox Church is established; co-ordinate the activities of DESMOS with non-Scout Organisations having the same objectives; motivate co-operation among DESMOS members; motivate and promote Scouting to Orthodox boys and girls on global basis.

Promote understanding and cooperation among Buddhist countries, Buddhist sects, and socially conscious Buddhist groups; identify and address the structural and personal suffering facing our communities, societies, and the world; articulate the perspective of engaged Buddhism regarding this suffering, and to train Buddhist activists to respond effectively; serve as a network of information and resources on engaged Buddhism; cooperate and collaborate with activists from other spiritual traditions and social change organisations.

Accompany organisational processes in defence of human rights and be physically and visibly present in the moments and places of highest tension so as to try to prevent repression and violence, such that threatened persons and organisations can continue their work to promote peace and human rights; expose the causes and consequences of, as well as responses to, socio-political conflict in Chiapas as well as in Oaxaca and Guerrero, with the intent of raising awareness and mobilising actors at local, national, and international levels to seek out non-violent solutions; work to strengthen the capacities of local groups, social agents—female and male—who work in defence of human rights and towards transformation of their conflicts in order to achieve a positive peace, and to promote and strengthen spaces for coming together and movement building.

Evangelise and transform the student milieu (both secondary and tertiary), through forming students and encouraging them to look at the world from the perspective of the poor, with a commitment to global solidarity, freedom, justice, and peace.

The Table aims to be a public organization which facilitates and promotes dialogue in all its forms, and also takes care of important social matters by fostering local social partnerships from a plural perspective.
