Enable and facilitate the development of mechanisms for cooperation among civil society-based peacebuilding practitioners and organisations in West Africa by promoting cooperative responses to violent conflicts; provide the structure through which these practitioners and institutions will regularly exchange experience and information on issues of peacebuilding, conflict transformation, social, religious and political reconciliation; promote West Africa's social cultural values as resources for peacebuilding.

Help to resolve disputes within the Palestinian community by complementing the traditional Arab form of mediation, called Sulha, with Western models of conflict resolution within the occupied and oppressed state of Palestine; provide services for women and children and seek to educate the local community on human equality and basic rights.

As the first and only centre in Europe dedicated to fostering a better understanding of relations between Muslim and Jews, the Woolf Institute aims to connect the multidisciplinary study of relations with broader practical and theoretical questions, including the importance of trust in everyday life, the role of religion in international diplomacy, and improving end of life care in local hospices. We strive, in our research and outreach, to demonstrate how greater understanding of commonality and difference can inform and enhance the wider public good.
