AETE aims to be a higher level biblical-theological and pastoral training and research center which offers an interdisciplinary, inter-confessional, intercultural and contextual theological perspective. The goal is to be a reference in Latin America, which contributes to theology, new knowledge, and methods to understand the kingdom of God in or from the reality of Latin America.
Inspired by the creation of a holiday in 2007 in Lebanon, which celebrated the occasion of the common feast of the Annunciation, in March 2015 Efesia initiated a gathering of more than 800 Christians and Muslims in the Basilica of Longpont sur Orge to celebrate Marie - Myiram under the title: "Together with Mary". Today, Efesia provides animation and federates the group "Together with Mary".
Provide the practical support required to counter religious prejudice, conflict and extremism in order to promote an open-minded and stable society.
Build mutual trust and understanding through unique person-to-person programmes and activities in the region.
Foster interfaith and intercultural dialogue, stimulate thinking and exchange of opinions on supporting and fostering democracy and peace all over the world and provide a common platform for education and information exchange; promote peace in the world and contribute to a peaceful coexistence of the adherents of different faiths, cultures, ethnicities and races; promote education, exchange of information, opinions and expertise, with a special focus on including as diverse a range of viewpoints as possible in our activities; organize conferences, seminars, panel discussions, common projects, scholarships, publications, meetings, trips and several other activities; promote the Fountain Magazine in Nigeria which is an initiative magazine of science and spiritual thought and bimonthly periodical, exploring life and our existence from a wide scholarship of humanities, natural sciences and perspectives on faith.
Improve and promote strategies of leading cross- and inter-cultural dialogues aimed at withstanding any form of discrimination or violence, securing creative patterns existing in the framework of traditional cultures, and contribute to amplification of global culture of peaceful co-existence and sustainable development; improve and promote strategies of leading inter- and pluri-religious dialogues, directed at appeasement of open or latent contradictions, frictions or conflicts between adherents of different religious or spiritual practices, introducing values of these subcultures into comparative scientific research and societal debate; improve and promote transdisciplinary methodologies, regarded as indispensable tools of leading creative and innovative dialogue over traditionally defined and delimited borders between different scientific and/or philosophical disciplines, religious and/or spiritual doctrines, as well as different forms of social activism and inter-communal discourse.
Promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of sociology of religion; serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, and Japan, and the Asia and the Pacific region.
Initiate a historical and anthropological reflection on the foundations and the process of interculturality, with particular emphasis on the place and the evolution of cultures in a globalizing world; promote an integrated system of research activities, training in the field of memory, cultures and interculturality; facilitate collaboration between high-level researchers, internationally recognized professors from universities and higher education institutions in France, Europe, North America, Central America, South America and other parts of the world.
Unite young scientists and specialists of Eurasia not through organisational and formal steps, but inviting them to united project teams to work together on real scientific projects.
