Promote an awareness of the common values lying behind diversity through its fellowships programmes for individuals who are principally from the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions; support and educate leaders who can bring about better understanding among religious traditions and cultures; encourage these Individuals to follow a study programme which will increase their knowledge of religious traditions different from their own.

Promote a respectful, scholarly and consensus building dialogue among the world's great religions, in particular between Islam and Christianity; publish papers, articles and books of interest in this field; act as an open forum for constructive dialogue among scholars, theologians and diplomats; organize an annual conference promoting scholarly and diplomatic dialogue.

Become a centre of excellence in research on Islam and contemporary issues. Focus on selected areas of research including the intellectual development of Islam Hadhari and the Islamic principles and doctrines on which it is founded.

Serve as a think tank in the field of Islamic education, culture and knowledge; formulate a comprehensive Islamic vision and methodology that will help Muslim scholars in their critical analysis of contemporary knowledge; develop an appropriate methodology for understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet; develop an appropriate methodology for dealing with Islamic legacy and contemporary knowledge, in order to draw on the experiences of both past and present, to build a better future for the Ummah and humanity at large; develop an appropriate methodology for understanding and dealing with the present situation of both the Ummah and the world in general, and the field of education in particular, in view of contemporary challenges and opportunities.

Build awareness and motivate youth to be socially engaged; build leadership capacity among the youth to carry out activities effectively; promote networking and solidarity among youth towards coordinated actions in the field of child and human rights, environmental conservation, economic justice and peace; participate in policy advocacy on child and youth rights including non-state and refugee youth.

Work for the development of European Citizenship with an emphasis on threefold dialogue: international dialogue, especially among all the peoples of Europe, intercultural dialogue among all kinds of cultures, and interconvictional dialogue among people with different world visions; work for the development of new secular public spaces, distinct from those of religious institutions, which facilitate dialogue and sharing between people who claim a humanist identity.

Promote research and ways of developing interreligious understanding and cooperation.

Introduce Islam and its international values and principles; promote cooperation among people and resistance to all reasons for family disintegration and social decadence; assure the importance of the environment and work to resist all reasons for corruption and pollution.

Strongly encourage inter-religious dialogue and contact, 'Tolerance, understanding and cooperation' is our vision for today's world and the message we seek to convey to believers of all religions; develop and promote the spirit of brotherhood and understanding among Scouts of the Orthodox Christian Faith; promote warm relations and co-operation between Scouting and the official local Orthodox Churches; develop an educational curriculum that should enhance the spiritual dimension in the personalities of young Orthodox in accordance with the purpose, principles, and method of the Scout Movement; introduce Scouting in such states or areas where Orthodox Church is established; co-ordinate the activities of DESMOS with non-Scout Organisations having the same objectives; motivate co-operation among DESMOS members; motivate and promote Scouting to Orthodox boys and girls on global basis.

Develop public awareness about the iniquities and injustices in the existing hegemonic global system; create a better understanding, at the popular level, of how control and domination of the global system by a privileged minority challenges human dignity and social justice everywhere; nurture a deeper appreciation among people of the urgent need for alternative institutions and arrangements at the global level which are more conducive to the emergence of a just world; raise global consciousness on the crucial importance of fostering attitudes, values and ideals at both the personal and community level which will help attain and sustain a just world; inculcate within the human family, a universal, spiritual and moral vision of life rooted in God Consciousness which will serve to guide humankind in its quest for a just world.
