Being a place for church services, meetings and dialogue.
Work in partnership with the four National Ecumenical Instruments; Facilitate effective collaborative working; Create appropriate ecumenical space; Be an expression of the churches' shared commitment to four nations ecumenism; Work with the widest range of partners; Listen closely, and respond to the shared needs and aspirations of the churches; Resource the work of the churches, agencies, networks and bodies in association with CTBI; Recognise and work with complexity; Offer theological reflection across the shared areas of work
Empower religious leaders to explore and utilize the resources of their diverse religious traditions in promoting authentic dialogue, inter-religious understanding, justice and world peace; combat the perverse use of religious teachings and traditions to justify violence and discrimination against people and institutions.
Address the crisis of understanding that tears at the social fabric of societies around the world; advance social cohesion through education and innovation.
Promote coexistence and dialogue, in particular by hosting mixed groups of Israelis and Palestinians for short stays in Switzerland, and encouraging exchanges with Switzerland, welcoming the Swiss host families for short stays in Israel and Palestine.
Engage in a cooperative venture that gave life to a new reality, promoting peace and solidarity in the European continent; position itself in the search for the common good, placing at the centre of its action the respect for human dignity; take note of the relevance of this new reality that had come into existence, and with the aim of promoting the Christian dimension of the process.
Cooperate in the service to poor people and in the various activities of Sant'Egidio without being part of the community in a strict sense.
Concentrate on the exchange of experience and knowledge: co-workers and local partner organizations meet on an equal footing and work together on site as this cooperation not only strengthens the local partner organizations, but also improves living conditions for the population groups involved in the process; make people conscious of global interrelationships and raise awareness among civil society and political decision-makers, in the interests of responsible action.
Continue to grow in the fellowship (koinonia) of faith, hope and love; make a common contribution to the mission of the Church to the safeguarding of life and the wellbeing of all humankind; help the European churches to renew their spiritual life, to strengthen their common witness and service, and to promote the unity of the Church and peace in the world.
