The Churches and Mining Network is driven by the urge to reflect on the Christian faith, seek joint answers and exchange experiences and knowledge, in order to face the challenges of an increasingly aggressive, extractive and predatory mining industry that threatens nature, the environment, and culture and life of many local communities The Churches and Mining Network is committed to strengthening popular movements and sectors, democratic values, gender equality, respect for multiculturalism, interreligious dialogue, and ecumenism while believing in the creative capacity of human beings, in the strength of popular organizations, in the importance of solidarity, mystique and the commitment of communities of faith. The main focus is on offering defense to victims whose rights have been violated by industries linked to mining.

Foster cooperation rather than confrontation among people of different religions and cultures; focus on the factors that have led to the rise and fall of previous civilisations and how people of this millennium can benefit from lessons of the past in a world literally changing to a global village.

Empower religious leaders to explore and utilize the resources of their diverse religious traditions in promoting authentic dialogue, inter-religious understanding, justice and world peace; combat the perverse use of religious teachings and traditions to justify violence and discrimination against people and institutions.

Address the crisis of understanding that tears at the social fabric of societies around the world; advance social cohesion through education and innovation.

Promote coexistence and dialogue, in particular by hosting mixed groups of Israelis and Palestinians for short stays in Switzerland, and encouraging exchanges with Switzerland, welcoming the Swiss host families for short stays in Israel and Palestine.

Create, organise, and promote projects for peace and non-violence, and encounters between religions and dialogue between cultures, particularly with, and among youth; promote a message of brotherhood through these projects.

Within the framework of Critical Feminist Liberation Theologies - TFCL seeks to de-construct traditional theologies, making visible their patriarchal origin, legitimizing the various expressions of spirituality that allow women to become aware of their identity as a historical, ethical-political and theological history. This is done through training and capacity building, research, production of knowledge, and political advocacy. The Collective is guided by the principles of dignity, freedom, equality, justice, inclusion, and sisterhood.

Strengthening the rights of the religious and spiritual sector. It is established with the mission of defending God before society, through the promotion of universal ethical and moral principles and values, and the praxis of interreligious cooperation.

Engage in a cooperative venture that gave life to a new reality, promoting peace and solidarity in the European continent; position itself in the search for the common good, placing at the centre of its action the respect for human dignity; take note of the relevance of this new reality that had come into existence, and with the aim of promoting the Christian dimension of the process.
